Chelated Organic Trace Minerals
These proteinated minerals allow for maximum absorption and retention by the horse. They are designed to match as closely as possible the naturally complexed trace element compounds found in forages and grains.
LMF Performance is a feed that is nutritionally advanced for athletic horses, providing 60% of its energy content from a combination of fermentable fiber and vegetable oil, avoiding excessive sugar that may result in erratic behavior. Fat (vegetable oil) and fiber (beet pulp) provide horses with a calorie rich diet that also decreases the chances of colic, founder and tying-up. LMF Performance is also an excellent choice for feeding underweight, neglected or rescue horses. This product is only available in our Southwest distribution region.

Chelated Organic Trace Minerals
These proteinated minerals allow for maximum absorption and retention by the horse. They are designed to match as closely as possible the naturally complexed trace element compounds found in forages and grains.
100% Organic Selenium
Organic Selenium is more bio-available than inorganic Selenium and is better retained in the body. This allows the horse to build nutrient reserves against periods of increased demand with less risk of toxicity.
Added Amino Acids
Amino acids are the building blocks of protein. Think of the proteins as words and the amino acids as the letters that form the words. If an animal is trying to form a protein to build or repair tissue and an amino acid is missing, the protein cannot be formed. LMF feeds use high quality protein sources in all of our feeds. Additionally, LMF feeds are supplemented with two of the most critical amino acids, Lysine and Methionine.
Natural Vitamin E
Natural Vitamin E, which comes from plant oils, is an important fat soluble vitamin that is not produced by the horse’s body. This vitamin must be obtained through external sources like forage, grain and supplements. Vitamin E: acts as an antioxidant, helps keep the immune system strong, and helps the body use Vitamin K.
Omega 3 and Omega 6 Fatty Acids
Omega fatty acids are unsaturated fatty acids that are components of oils commonly added to horse diets. Omega 6 fatty acids are used in the body to help mediate inflammation. Omega 3 fatty acid is used to produce intermediaries that suppress inflammation. Both Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids are important in a horse’s diet for hoof health, reproductive success, allergy and immune conditions, respiratory conditions, and exercise recovery.
Yeast Culture
Yeast Cultures work to enhance fiber digestion and nutrient absorption allowing for increased for enhanced animal performance. By improving feed efficiency yeast cultures also help to maintain body and coat conditions in horses.
Glucosamine
Glucosamine is a natural substance that is found in the cartilage tissue associated with unique joints. It is made from a series of sugar and protein molecules. Once incorporated into joint cartilage it works with other substances to absorb shock and lubricate the joint. Glucosamine has been shown to function in the joint as an anti-inflammatory substance. Glucosamine is added to help horses feel more comfortable and move easier.
“G” Formulas complement grass or oat forages.
Feed “G” formulas when diet is composed of 50% or more grass forages.
“A” Formulas complement alfalfa or clover forages.
Feed “A” formulas when the diet is composed of more than 50% alfalfa or clover forage.
Feed LMF PERFORMANCE (G or A) along with medium to good quality hay or good quality oat hay (cut at the milk or early dough stage). Vary the daily intake of LMF Performance (G or A) based upon intensity of training each day.
Feed during the training season at a minimum of 4 pounds daily (for a 1000 pound horse) and up to 12 pounds daily (for a 1000 pound horse) when in maximum training. Always provide free choice plain salt and fresh water. For hot ambient conditions, electrolytes can be added to the feed to account for electrolyte losses in the sweat.
WARNING: Feed LMF Horse Feeds to horses according to the feeding instructions provided on the feed tag, or upon the advice of your nutritionist. Do not add other sources of selenium that cause total dietary selenium (forage and grain, combined) to exceed 0.3 ppm. Feeding additional vitamin or mineral supplements is not recommended when feeding LMF Feed products according to feeding instructions.
